External Teat Sealant for Dry Cows
AUXILIUM® Dry is an external teat sealant used for the dry and pre-calving period of the dairy cow. It is used to aid in the
prevention of mastitis infection caused by bacteria migration into the teat canal by a physical barier.
AUXILIUM® Dry assists the forming of the natural keratin plug in the teat canal during the dry period and thus protects the udder
against new infections. Even organisms as small as mycoplasma do not come through the barrier protection.
Product features and characteristics:
Impervious physical barrier formulated with natural ingrdients
Stays on the teat up to 7 days
Water resistant and not soluble in milk
High visible blue color
Easy to use
Reduces the risk of new infections during the dry period
Even the smallest micro-organisms such as Mycoplasma bovis and Mycoplasma californicum do not come through the barrier protection
Particularly in the first few days of drying off and just before calving the teat canal is especially vulnerable because the natural keratin plug in the teat canal
just slowly forms respectively has regressed.
The dry period is the shortest but most important phase of the cow. During this period the course of the next lactation is determined.
The healthier the cow starts in the lactation, the more she can afford.
